On the 6th of November 2025 North Northamptonshire Council confirmed the above order.
The above Order was made on 18th September 2025, under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The effect of the order will be to divert the public footpath running from Point A on Order Map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 267745.858. The route winds eastwards for 10m before taking a 90 degree turn southwards along existing vegetation to Point B at NGR SP 267670.657. The path then heads in a south-easterly direction for 111 metres towards Point C at NGR 267568.993. At Point C the route is directed around an existing area of concrete hardstanding for 90 metres until reaching Point D at NGR 267490.888 where the path tapers back to the edge of the site boundary for 30 metres towards Point E at NGR 267472.629. The route then travels for approximately 62 metres and straddles the edge of the boundary before joining onto the end of Shirley Road at Point F at NGR 267432.176 as shown on the Order Plan as a continuous black line between points A to F.
The confirmation of the Order has created an alternative footpath instead on a line running from Point A at NGR SP 267745.858. It then runs in a generally southern direction for approximately 90 metres to Point G at NGR SP 267659.198. From there, it then continues to run in a generally south westerly direction adjacent to a shared drive before linking into an adoptable turning head, it then follows this route adjacent to another shared drive along the back edge of the shared drive for approximately 121 metres to Point H at NGR 267547.274. From there the route runs in a generally southwestern direction along the site boundary adjacent to a shared drive where it will then join another adoptable turning head for approximately 103.5 metres to Point E at NGR 267472.629. The route will then continue unchanged in a generally southeastern direction to Point F at NGR 267432.176 for approximately 71 metres as shown on the Order Map between Point A to Point E as a black dashed line. The surface treatment of the route will change from a trodden path to tarmac.
This route has a width of 2 metres throughout its length.
A copy of the Order and Order Map are enclosed and may also be seen free of charge at the Council Offices at The Cube, George Street, Corby, NN17 7QL between 10.00am and 4pm Monday to Fridays inclusive.
