CONFIRMATION OF DIRECTION MADE UNDER ARTICLE 4(1) TO WHICH PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 3 APPLIES
RELATING TO LAND AT THE WEST OF CHICHESTER STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT LOCATION SPORTS FACILITIES, CLAY LANE, CHICHESTER, WEST SUSSEX
ISSUED BY: CHICHESTER DISTRICT COUNCIL (“the Council”)
TAKE NOTICE that the Chichester District Council Authority has made a Direction under Article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 relating to Land at the West of Chichester Strategic Development Location Sports Facilities, Clay Lane, Chichester, PO19 3JG
The District Council is satisfied that it is expedient that development of the description set out in the First Schedule hereto should not be carried out on the said land unless permission therefore is granted on an application made under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended).
The effect of the Direction is that permission granted under Article 3 of the said Order shall not apply to development of the description set out in the First Schedule below on the land specified in the Second Schedule below.
The Direction was CONFIRMED and came into force on 05 November 2025 in accordance with paragraphs 1(9) and 1(10) of the said Order.
A copy of the confirmed Direction and a copy of the plan defining the land to which it relates may be viewed at Chichester District Council offices, East Pallant House, East Pallant, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1TY between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. A copy of the confirmed Direction may be viewed on the Council’s website at
FIRST SCHEDULE
Gates, Fences, Walls and other means of enclosure
The erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or other means of enclosure being development comprised within Schedule 2, Part 2 - Minor Operations, Class A of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 and not being development comprised in any other class.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Land at the West of Chichester Strategic Development Location Sports Facilities, Clay Lane, Chichester, PO19 3JG.
