(WEST PRINCES STREET AND COLQUHOUN STREET, HELENSBURGH) (SPECIAL EVENT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

On Thursday 23rd October 2025, Argyll and Bute Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of the Scottish Ministers under Sections 16B(1)(b) of the said Act, made the above named Order the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, for the purpose of facilitating the Christmas lights switch on event, no person shall drive or cause to or permit to be driven any vehicle through the sections of road on the dates and at the times as indicated in the schedule below.

Road Times and dates of closures in November 2025
West Princes Street (Colquhoun Square) From its junction with Sinclair Street to its junction with James Street. On 22nd November 2025 from 1000 hours to 2000 hours
Alternative route: A818 Sinclair Street, U314 West King Street, U157 James Street.
Colquhoun Street. From its junction with West King Street to its junction with Colquhoun Square. On 22nd November 2025 from 1000 hours to 2000 hours
No Alternative route

The restrictions imposed by this Order, which are desirable because of considerations of public safety and convenience during the event, will be in operation when indicated by signs.

Exceptions will apply to any vehicle which is being driven upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or an event steward; an emergency services vehicle; or an authorised vehicle associated with the organisation of the event.

Alternative routes will be signed in an appropriate manner.
