Axminster Subdistrict

Proposal:

Rebuilding of barn, adjoining garage and attached wall. Including salvaged and new matching stone in lime mortar to match existing; structural strengthening of existing and retained walling; new timber roof structure to main barn incorporating structural strengthening; reclaimed red clay double roman tiles; conservation roof light to main roof; new doors and windows.

Proposal:

Tappers Knapp frontage – undertake selective crown raising of the lower branches to ensure there is a minimum vertical clearance of 5.5m over the highway.

    • T001: Lime – reduce the remaining tree in height by 3.5–4m and spread by 3m.

    • T002: Horse Chestnut – dismantle and retain a an approximately 4m high monolith.

    • T003: Sycamore – dismantle the southeastern stem to circa 5m to retain the fracture crack as habitat.

  • T004: Grey Poplar – remove.

Cranbrook Subdistrict

Proposal:

G346 - x4 Ash – sectional dismantle to leave 3m monoliths.

Sidmouth Subdistrict

App No: 25/2206/TCA

Location: Brooklands Convent Road Sidmouth Devon

Proposal:

    • T1: Eucalyptus – reduce height and spread to previous pruning position, approximately 3–4m height reduction.

    • T2: Lawson Cypress – remove (northern) stem leaning.

    • T3: Lawson Cypress – reduce southern stem to 4m.

  • T4: Lawson Cypress – remove.

Ottery St Mary Subdistrict

App No: 25/2227/TRE

Location: Project Centre Poltimore House Poltimore Exeter

Proposal:

    • Y1, English Yew: reduce by 5m and prune laterals to shape canopy.

    • Y2, English Yew: reduce to 8m and prune laterals to shape canopy.

  • T1 + T2, Turkey Oak: Self-set. Suppressed by adjacent Fraxinus excelsior; significant squirrel damage throughout canopy and causing deformation; broken ends of storm-damaged branches at canopy break. It is unlikely that these two trees were present at the time of the 1991 TPO service. Fell.

    • T1, Magnolia: crown lift to 2.2m above ground level.

  • T2, Birch: remove south western stem leaning over neighbours’ property.
