PUBLIC PATH NOTICE

FOOTPATH 561001, STAVELEY WASTE WATER TREATMENT WORKS, OVER STAVELEY PARISH, TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order. The effect of the order will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over part of Footpath 561001 between SD 4781 9795 and SD 4828 9809 near Staveley Waste Water Treatment Works, to enable works to install a sewage pipeline and upgrade the treatment works.

The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Westmorland & Furness Council Customer Services, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and at The Beehive, 22 Main St, Staveley, Kendal LA8 9LN; and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/rowclosures

The order is anticipated to take effect in November 2025 and will continue in force for six months. It is expected that the duration of the works may be longer than this period and that an application will be made requesting the approval of the Secretary of State for an extension of the Order for a further period. When the order takes effect signs will be erected showing the closed path and the alternative route.
