What is planned?

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY
FOR THE COUNTY OF NORTHUMBERLAND
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER (NO 6) 2025
The above Order, made on 15th October 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:-
Former Tynedale District
Restricted Byway No 65/Footpath No 34 (Parish of Bardon Mill)
Upgrading thereto to restricted byway status (and renumbering as RB 65), part of existing Public Footpath No 34, from the southern end of existing Byway Open to All Traffic No 45 (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7699 6258), 100 metres east of Allensgreen Farm, in a southern direction for a distance of 580 metres to join Byway Open to All Traffic No 46, 450 metres east of Peupeugh (NY 7710 6203).
Byways Open to All Traffic Nos 45 & 46 (Parish of Bardon Mill)
The Definitive Statements for these existing public right of way will be amended to reflect the addition of Restricted Byway No 65.
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Council Offices of Hexham Library, Queens Hall, Beaumont Street, Hexham, NE46 3LS and the offices of Legal Services, County Hall, Morpeth during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased. They can also be viewed on https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/About/Maps/Public-rights-of-way.aspx.
Any representations or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Barbara McCabe, Legal Services, at the address shown below no later than 18th December 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Northumberland County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
