Langside - Pre-application Consultation for Residential Development at Former Victoria Hospital

What is planned?

PRE PLANNING APPLICATION COMMUNITY CONSULTATION EVENT

Regulation 7 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 and the Town and Country Planning (Pre Application Consultation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021. 

Proposed Conversion, Conservation, and Extension of the Category ‘B’ Listed Administration Building to Form up to 16 Apartments and the Construction of a New Residential Building to Accommodate up to 68 Apartments including associated Landscaping, Car Parking and Services Infrastructure at the Former Victoria Hospital (Phase III), Grange Road, Langside, Glasgow.

Notice is hereby given under Regulation 7 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 and the Town and Country Planning (Pre Application Consultation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021 that the first of two public consultation events are to be held on behalf of Beech Grove Homes Ltd (the prospective applicant) in respect of future planning and listed building applications to develop Phase III of the site of the former Victoria Hospital, Langside, Glasgow to construct new residential properties including associated landscaping, car parking and services infrastructure as detailed above.

The first event will comprise of a public exhibition of indicative site proposals to be held at the Couper Institute Library, 84 Clarkston Road, Glasgow, G44 3DA on Wednesday 22 October 2025 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. The second event will be held at the same time and venue on Wednesday 19 November 2025.

The events will be attended by representatives of the prospective applicant and members of its planning and architectural design team who will be available to answer questions and provide any additional information or clarification as required.

Any persons wishing to make comments to the prospective applicant on the content of the public exhibition and related indicative proposals may do so by visiting the website at www.thevictoria-glasgow.co.uk from Wednesday 15th October 2025 at 9am; or by writing directly to Farningham Planning Ltd, Daldownie, Borelick, Dunkeld PH8 0BX or by email to alan.farningham@farnmac.co.uk  

Feedback forms will be available at the event and online, and all comments and questions on the first event should be submitted to the above noted addresses by no later than Wednesday 12 November 2025. 

This notice does not relate to a planning application. As such, comments made to the prospective applicant at this time do not constitute representations to the Planning Authority. An opportunity to make representations to Glasgow City Council will be available following formal submission of the planning and listed building applications, when neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken at that time.
