THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 132, STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
What is planned?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough
Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended
by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the
effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of Footpath
132, Stockport, between Geoff Furnell Bridge and M60
Bridge, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or
near the said footpath. This Order is necessary to allow
for planned road maintenance works to take place. It is
estimated these works will last up to 3 weeks. No diversion
will be provided. Local access only. This Order came into
operation on 10 October 2025 and will have effect for six
months, provided that if all necessary works are completed
within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have
effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/11527512
