Great Yarmouth Borough Council has received the following planning applications for development in the Borough, which are hereby advertised.

THE PROPOSAL BELOW IS ADVERTISED

FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

(1) Within a Conservation area (2) Affecting a Listed Building (3) A Major Development

• 3a Church View, Fleggburgh; Erection of a garden room to be used as a home gym and leisure space.

• Old Cemetery Gatehouse, corner of Magdalen Way and Crab Lane, Gorleston; Installation of a CCTV unit on the rear of the entrance Gatehouse. Application No: 06/25/0788/F and 06/25/0789/LB(2)

• Hemsby Tents & Touring, Kings Loke, Hemsby; Variation of Condition 1(a) of the deemed planning permission granted by virtue of the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 and the existing Site Licence dated 12th June 2013, ref: HE/0041/00150/00000/CAR/Rf/conditions, to remove the existing seasonal-occupancy period restriction which limits site occupation to use only by caravans for holiday purposes between 20th March and 31st October in any year, and instead allow year-long occupation by caravans for holiday purposes.

• The Gables Farm, 3 Hemsby Road, Martham; Reconstruction of the roof and first floor of the rear wing along Back Lane, constructing a new roof and replacing the former thatch covering with red clay pantiles, adding two catslide dormer windows, a conservation-style rooflight and a lower eaves line; Removal of external masonry paint and repainting; Insertion of 2 no. rooflights to rear courtyard lean-to extension; Replacement and enlarged windows and doors; Remove rear windows and create two new openings for doors; Block-up a rear door. Internal works to: Reinsulate external walls behind plaster board finish; Remove two rear/secondary staircases; Create a new opening between lounge and dorm room; Remove stud walls and dropped ceilings and install vaulted ceilings with log/feature fireplace surround, step and piers, and create new openings between rooms. • Flat 5 & 6 High View, 165-166 King Street, Great Yarmouth, Part-retrospective application for: 1) Creating two 1-bedroom flats at ground floor level to the rear including infill of fire escape stairs; 2) Alterations to west elevation; 3) Add windows to south elevation; 4) Change of use and conversion of lower ground floor storage space and staircase at the rear to create 2no. garages. Application No: 06/25/0601/F (1,2)

Written representations should be sent to plan@great-yarmouth.gov.uk by no later than 31st October 2025 quoting the application number. All representations will be recorded and made public, be viewable on the Council’s website, and will be referred to the Secretary of State’s inspector in the event of an appeal.
