LOCH LOMOND & THE TROSSACHS NATIONAL PARK
The proposed development at the location stated below is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017.
2023/0374/DET: The Former Torpedo Factory Site, Arrochar, Argyll And Bute G83 7AD:
Erection of mixed-use visitor accommodation and leisure development comprising 14 no. holiday homes, 34 no. holiday lodges (sized per caravan act), 34 bedroom budget hotel with staff accommodation, outdoor play area, associated parking and landscaping and temporary change of use of land to caravan site for the siting of 20 no. glamping pods, shower block and 6 no. motorhome pitches.
Notice is hereby given that additional information in relation to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report has been submitted to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority Framed Estates Ltd on behalf of Ardnaqal Estates. This relates to planning application 2023/0374/DET, seeking Detailed Planning Permission for the proposed works detailed above.
A copy of the additional information together with the EIA Report and the associated planning application and other documents submitted with the application may be examined online at https://eplanning-lochlomond-trossachs.org/OnlinePlanning/ or at our Headquarters at Carrochan, Carrochan Road, Balloch, G83 8EG between the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday. A copy can also be viewed at The Three Villages Hall, Arrochar, G83 7AB.
Hard copies of the EIA report may be purchased from Framed Estates c/o Muir Media, Unit 5000 Abbey Mill Business Centre, 12 Seedhill Road at a cost of £75 + Vat.
Please note: Our Public Access site will be unavailable due to a necessary major upgrade from 4pm on Tuesday 7 October 2025 until 5pm on Sunday 19 October 2025. You will not be able to view or comment on applications during this period. Due to this downtime, the deadline to comment on planning applications has been extended from 30 days to 44 days.
Any person who wishes to make representations to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority about the additional information should make them in writing through our public access website above using the online comments facility, or by email to planning@lochlomond-trossachs.org (or by post to Carrochan, Carrochan Road, Balloch, G83 8EG) within 44 days of 9 October 2025.
All matters raised in representations will be addressed by the Planning Authority’s report on the application.
Possible decisions to be taken by Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority relating to the application are:
(i) Approval of the application without conditions; or
(ii) Approval of the application with conditions; or
(iii) Refusal of the application.
The application will be determined in accordance with the Scheme of Delegation of the Planning & Access Committee.
