What is planned?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL PLANNING APPLICATION

United Utilities is applying for a change of use of agricultural land to operational land for the purposes of a statutory undertaker, above ground detention tank, storm wet well, permanent earthworks including landscaping bunds, hardstanding, security fencing, access track and associated infrastructure on land near Hayes Castle Farm, Distington, Workington, CA14 5SH. (Ref. 4/25/9016)

The application can be inspected at planning.cumbria.gov.uk or at the Council’s Customer Service Centres at Allerdale House in Workington or at the Market Hall in Whitehaven.

Representations must be made via planning.cumbria.gov.uk or sent to: Minerals & Waste Planning, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ by 29 October 2025.
