Town & Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended)

On 11 March 2025 the Council submitted the South Tyneside Local Plan to the Secretary of State in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town & County Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
The Secretary of State appointed David Spencer BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI to undertake an
independent examination of the Local Plan.
South Tyneside Council hereby gives notice that the Stage 2 examination hearings will take place
between Tuesday 18 – Thursday 27 November 2025.

Week 1 sessions will take place in person, commencing Tuesday 18 November 2025 at 10:00am, at the Holiday Inn (previously Clarion Hotel), Witney Way, Boldon NE35 9PE.

The hearings are open to the public to attend as observers. Seating will be limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Week 2 sessions will take place online via Teams. Hearing sessions will be recorded and links published on the Council’s Local Plan examination webpage.
