LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING
AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS – THE PAVEMENT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable UK Power
Networks to carry out maintenance, the Council of the London
Borough of Lambeth intends to make an Order the effect of
which would be to temporarily ban;
(a) vehicles from entering that length of The Pavement which
lies between Wingate Square and the south eastern
property boundary of No. 30 The Pavement. Access for
residents will be maintained;
(b) vehicles proceeding in a south westerly direction in
Grafton Square from turning left into Old Town;
(c) vehicles proceeding in a south westerly direction in
Wingate Square from turning left into The Pavement;
(d) vehicles proceeding in an easterly direction in The
Polygon from turning right into Old Town or The
Pavement.
2. Alternative routes for affected vehicles would be available via
Old Town and The Pavement, and vice versa.
3. Whenever the ban referred to in paragraph 1(a) above
applies, the one-way system in Old Town between No. 39 Old
Town and Wingate Square would be temporarily suspended to
allow access to and egress from that length of road.
4. Whenever the ban referred to in paragraph 1(a) above
applies, the one-way system in Grafton Square at the junction
with Old Town would be temporarily suspended to allow access
to and egress from that length of road.
5. The one-way system suspensions would only apply at such
times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of
the appropriate traffic signs.
6. The Order would come into force on 6 October 2025 and
would continue in force for a maximum duration of 2 months (to
allow for contingencies) or until the works have been completed
whichever is the sooner. In practice, it is anticipated that the
works would take place between 6 October and 17 October
2025, but if the works cannot be carried out or completed during
that time then the Order may have effect at subsequent times
within the maximum period of 2 months.
