West Street, Farnham - Removal of existing Taxi stand

What is planned?

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 63 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, Waverley Borough Council proposes to revoke and appoint stands for taxi carriages within the Waverley area as follows: West Street, Farnham Revocation
As part of the Farnham Town Centre Improvement Scheme it is proposed to remove the existing (24 hour a day) stand on West Street Farnham (located in front of 7 to 9 West Street). 
Appoint It is also proposed under the Improvement Scheme to designate a new combined loading/taxi stand which will be provided slightly to the east, located in front of 2 to 6 West Street, with restrictions: “Loading only 8 am – 6 pm & ‘No stopping except taxis’ 6 pm – 8 am”. 
A copy of this notice, together with plans illustrating the proposals, will be deposited in reception at the Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 1HR and will be open for public inspection during normal office hours for the duration of this consultation period.  The notice and plans may also be viewed on the Council’s website www.waverley.gov.uk.
Any representation to the proposals should be made in writing within 28 days, by 31 October 2025, to Richard Homewood, Assistant Director for Regulatory Services at the address given above.  If no representations in relation to the proposed appointments are received by 31 October 2025, or if any representations are made but subsequently withdrawn, the appointments shall be operative on the date of expiration of the consultation period (i.e. 31 October 2025).
