What is planned?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highway (East) (No. 21) Order 2025” authorizing the stopping up of an irregular shaped part width of Mercers Row at Cambridge, in the City of Cambridge. This is to enable development as permitted by Cambridge City Council, under reference 24/03964/FUL. 

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinner burn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/E/ S247/6061). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Cambridge City Council, The Guildhall, Market Square, Cambridge, CB2 3QJ. 

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 24 September 2025.
