Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has received a planning application from Sewells Reservoir Construction Ltd for Retrospective changes to the configuration of the recycling facility including, additional concrete hardstanding, concrete block bay walls and the importation and soaking of expanded clay at Martells Quarry, Slough Lane, Ardleigh, Essex, CO7 7RU – ESS/72/25/TEN

(Alresford Viaduct (Bridge No.328), B1027 St Osyth Road, Alresford) (18 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under sections (1), 2(1) to (4), 3(2) and Part III to Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order: To introduce an 18-tonne weight restriction on the following length of (B1027) St Osyth Road, Alresford in the District of Tendring, from the northwestern end of the Alresford Viaduct (Bridge No.328) to its southeastern end, approximately 70 metres.

The weight restriction is without exemptions and is required in the interests of public safety and for the protection of the bridge.

(Culver Street East and Long Wyre Street) (City of Colchester)

(Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the Order: To replace the existing Prohibition of motor vehicles on Culver Street East, and Long Wyre Street in the City of Colchester for the hours specified below and to allow pedal cycles to enter the roads.

1. Implement:

Prohibition of Motor Vehicles between the hours of Midnight to 7am and 10am to Midnight Monday to Saturday, and Sunday at any time.

RoadDirection
Culver Street EastFrom its junction to the west of St. Nicholas Street west for its entire length.
2. Implement:

Prohibition of Motor Vehicles between the hours of 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.

RoadDirection
Long Wyre StreetFrom its junction with Culver Street East south for its entire length.
Bollards to be erected at times outlined in the Bollard Management Plan (applies to all above) *Exemptions to these restrictions will apply at all times for emergency service vehicles and maintenance vehicles.

All other access to St Nicholas Square via Culver Street East/St Nicholas Street will be overseen by the City Council and Colchester Market.

‘The Essex County Council (Culver Street East, Culver Street West and Long Wyre Street, Colchester) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2011’ is hereby revoked insofar as it relates to Culver Street East, and Long Wyre Street, all other roads not mentioned above shall remain in force by virtue of the existing Order.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on

25 September 2025

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Colchester Road, Layer Breton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colchester Road, Layer Breton in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Lower Road to its junction with Layer Road a distance of approximately 2200m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2350018 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via B1026, Gosbecks Road, Cunobelin Way, B1022, Orpen’s Farm, School Hill, Birch Street, Layer Breton Hill and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hilliards Road, Great Bromley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hilliards Road, Great Bromley in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 670m north east then north west of its junction with Stone Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT002DS0054282) – Affinity Water.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Badley Hall Road, B1029, Mary Lane North, Stone Road, Hilliards Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(School Lane, Great Horkesley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Lane, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 230m north west of its junction with The Causeway for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03060581580 – Anglian Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via London Road, Coach Road, The Causeway and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ardleigh Road, Great Bromley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ardleigh Road, Great Bromley in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 170m north west of its junction with Colchester Road for a distance of approximately 20m in north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30019099282 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via A137, B1352, B1035, B1033, A133, B1029 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Chapel Lane, Elmstead)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Lane, Elmstead in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 60m north west of its junction with Old School Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30061043008 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Old School Lane, Bromley Road, Clacton Road and vice versa (with access only into Chapel Lane).

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cooks Hill, Boxted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cooks Hill, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 230m north west of its junction with Dedham Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD022-SPA-07333-046 – Anglian Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Dedham Road and vice versa (with access only into Cooks Hill and Carters Hill).

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Road, Ardleigh)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 235m south west of its junction with Frating Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30057410792 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Bromley Road, Colchester Road, B1029 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Prettygate Road, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Prettygate Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with All Saints Avenue for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010643116 – Anglian Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while excavation works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via The Commons, Ambrose Avenue, King Harold Road and vice versa. (with access only into Prettygate Road).

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rowhedge Road, Colchester & Rowhedge Road/Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rowhedge Road, Colchester & Rowhedge Road/Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge, in the City of Colchester from the junction of Fingringhoe Road to the junction of High Street a distance of approximately 1805m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388003 / EP201EH2387999 / EP201EH2387997 – Essex County Council).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Chapel Street, Head Street, Rectory Road, Fingringhoe Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
