What is planned?
Elliotts Hill & Wolf Bog Windfarm Repowering Public Information Event
The Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011, The Planning (Development Management)
Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (Regulation 5 (2) (b)) and The Planning (Miscellaneous
Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2025.
PRE‐APPLICATION COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
Proposal: Decommissioning of the existing operational Elliots Hill Windfarm and Wolf Bog
Windfarm and repowering of the site to provide up to five new turbines with height up to
150m. Key elements of the proposed development include: a) Decommissioning the fifteen
turbines; Installation of up to five new wind turbines; b) Construction of upgraded or new
onsite access tracks; c) Potential turbine delivery route and site entrance upgrade works; d)
Provision of a temporary construction compound for use during the decommissioning and
construction phase; e) Upgrade of the two existing substations to accommodate power
collection from the new wind turbines; and f) Implementation of site reinstatement and
restoration works following the decommissioning and construction activities.
Location: Elliots Hill Windfarm and Wolf Bog Windfarm, Shaws Hill, Ballyclare, BT39 0TD.
How information may be obtained concerning the proposed development?
Information on the proposed development can be obtained as follows:
We will be holding public information events on Wednesday 24 th September 2025 at
Rosspark Hotel, Doagh Road, Co. Antrim, BT42 3LZ, and Thursday 25 th September at
Ballyclare Golf Club, 25 Springvale Road, Co. Antrim BT39 9JW. The public information
events will run from 2pm – 8pm on both days for interested parties to attend and learn about
the proposal, to ask questions and to comment on the proposal.

The public consultation material will be available to view on the project website from 24 th
September to 24 th October. Members of the public can provide comments/ feedback on the
proposed development.

Please note that this notice does not relate to a planning application. Comments should not
be made to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council at this time. Any comments made to the
prospective applicant are not representations to the planning authority. If a planning
application is subsequently submitted, neighbour notification and Council publicity will be
undertaken and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the
proposal at that time.
