Derry City and Strabane District Council
Proposal: Wind farm development consisting of 11 three-bladed horizontal axis wind
turbines, each up to 180 m maximum tip height; associated external electricity transformers;
underground cabling; access tracks; turning heads; crane hardstandings; control building and
substation compound, battery energy storage containers, off-site areas of widening to the
public road and all ancillary works. During construction and commissioning there would be a
number of temporary works including a construction compound with car parking; temporary
parts of crane hardstandings; welfare facilities.
Location: Located approximately 4km north east of Plumbridge and approximately 11.5km
south west of Claudy. The site is located in the townlands of Stroanbrack, Doorat and
Glengarrow, within the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, located within County
Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The proposed site entrance is located along the north-western
boundary of the site. The proposed site entrance accesses the site from the Carrickayne Road,
approximately 660m from the (B48) Lisnaragh Road junction, onto the Carrickayne Road.
An Environmental Statement has been received by the Department for Infrastructure in
relation to the above planning application. The planning application, Environmental Statement
and supporting documents may be examined during office hours at DfI Regional Planning
Policy & Casework Directorate, James House, Gasworks Site, 2-4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast,
BT7 2JA. It is necessary to make an appointment before calling at these offices by contacting
