What is planned?

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS

THE ANGUS COUNCIL (SPEED LIMITS) (VARIATION) ORDER 202 x

Angus Council hereby propose to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, for the purpose of reducing traffic speeds over various sections of roads in the interests of road safety. The roads affected are:-

A.  Arbroath to Montrose (A92) between Arbroath and Marywell.

B.  Brechin Road, Kirriemuir (B957).

C.  Panmure Street, Monifieth (B962).

D.  Broughty Ferry to Draffin (B978) between Ballumbie and Lovehall Cottages, Wellbank.

E.  Montrose Road, Forfar (B9113) and other residential side roads at Gowanbank, Forfar.

F.   Arbroath to Hillend (C51) and Paradise Road at Woodville, Arbroath.

G.  Arbirlot to Panlathy (C59) at Arbirlot.

H.  Chapel Road, Bucklershead (U308).

I.   Backwater Road, Glen Isla (U390) (to protect the structural integrity of Backwater Dam).

Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order, which, together with a plan showing the affected roads and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order, are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders or may be examined during normal office hours and without payment of fee at the reception of Angus House, Silvie Way, Orchardbank Business Park, FORFAR, DD8 1AN. Any person may, within 28 days from 05 September 2025, object to the proposed Order by notice in writing to Director of Infrastructure & Environment, Angus Council, Angus House, Silvie Way, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar DD8 1AN or by email to Roads@angus.gov.uk. Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate, and the grounds on which they are made.
