development located between the existing Hagshaw Hill
and Douglas West wind farms.

3R Energy is preparing to submit a planning application for a
mixed renewable energy (wind, solar and LDES)
development located between the existing Hagshaw Hill
and Douglas West wind farms.
The proposed Hagshaw Hill III development is
expected to comprise of up to eight wind
turbines, approximately 30 megawatts (MW)
of solar photovoltaic energy generation, and
approximately 50 MW of Long Duration
Electricity Storage (LDES).
This would be enough to secure the power
supply for thousands of homes while
supporting Scotland’s transition to Net Zero
through low carbon infrastructure.

submission comments until Sunday 30th
November 2025. Comments made to the
Applicant (3R Energy) are not
representations to the Scottish Ministers.
If the Applicant submits a Section 36
planning application there will be an
opportunity for consultees to make
representations on the application to
the Scottish Ministers at that time.
