to abstract (take) water

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number

6/33/09/*G/0003 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of Lower Greensand/ Woburn Sands through seven boreholes at National Grid Reference SP 94 34 for public water supply.

The proposed variations are as follows:

•  To add the purpose of ‘transfer for the purpose of river augmentation’ to the Broughton Brook. This will see the total licence quantity increase from 2,488,935 to 2,895,500 cubic metres per year.
