APPLICATION FOR PLANNING PERMISSION
Proposed development at: land adjacent to and within Hebden Water, the River Calder and Rochdale Canal between Hebden Bridge Town Centre, Mytholmroyd, Stubbing Holme and Midgehole.
I give notice that Mott MacDonald, on behalf of the Environment Agency is applying to Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council for planning permission for the Hebden Bridge Flood Alleviation Scheme (HBFAS) including the repair and reconstruction of the river walls on Hebden Water and the River Calder, construction of new walls within St Pols Car Park, construction of vertical rising flood barriers on Bridge Gate and Old Gate, the repair and reinforcement of specific properties, modification to five weirs, the replacement of Central Street Footbridge and reinforcement of two bridges across Hebden Water, two construction compounds, landscaped public open spaces and demolition of outbuildings to the rear of No.35 West End along Heben Water, and associated landscaping on land adjacent to and within Hebden Water, the River Calder and Rochdale Canal between Hebden Bridge Town Centre, Mytholmroyd, Stubbing Holme and Midgehole.
Any owner* of the land or tenant** who wishes to make representation about this application should write to Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UN by 11/09/2025
* “Owner” means a person having a freehold interest or a leasehold interest the unexpired term of which is not less than 7 years, or, in the case of development consisting of winning or working of minerals, a person entitled to an interest in a mineral in the land (other than oil, gas, coal, gold, or silver).
** “Tenant” means a tenant of an agricultural holding any part of which is comprised in the land.
