Ellesmere Port, Stopping-Up Order
What is planned?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highway (North West) (No.26) Order 2025” authorising the stopping up of a western part-width of Old Chester Road at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire West and Chester. This is to enable development as permitted by Cheshire West and Chester Council under reference 22/03296/FUL.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NW/S247/5308). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Hope Farm Library, Bridge Meadow, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port, CH66 2LE.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 14 August 2025.
