SESSIONS TO BE HELD AS PART OF THE PUBLIC INQUIRY
ELECTRICITY ACT 1989
HILL OF FARE WIND FARM
SECTION 36 APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE A WIND FARM
NORTH OF THE A980 AND APPROXIMATELY
6 KM NORTH OF BANCHORY
Scottish Ministers have appointed Tammy Swift-Adams BA (Hons) DipTP MRTPI to consider and submit a report to them on an application under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate a wind farm approximately 6km north of Banchory, Aberdeenshire. The Reporter will hold a public inquiry to obtain more information on certain matters before she reports to Scottish Ministers on the case. The matters to be considered during the oral sessions of the public inquiry are:
• cultural heritage (effect on setting of Sunhoney Stone Circle and Christchurch Stone Circle) (inquiry session)
• landscape and visual impact (inquiry session)
• community perspectives (hearing session)
• interpretation and application of energy and planning policy (hearing session)
• planning conditions (hearing session)
No other matters relevant to this case will be considered at the inquiry and hearing sessions.
These sessions will take place starting on Tuesday 02 September 2025 at 10:00am within Banchory Town Hall, 14 High Street, Banchory, AB31 5RP and will run for eight days (excluding weekends).
Most sessions will take place during the daytime. The community session will be held at 18:30 on Monday 08 September also at Banchory Town Hall.
Members of the public can follow the proceedings through the broadcast to the internet as part of DPEA’s webcasting service. The webcast recordings will be available to view at: http://dpea.public-i.tv/core/portal/home.
Attendees and/or participants may wish to note that this meeting will be broadcast live to the internet as part of DPEA’s webcasting service. Generally the public seating areas will not be directly filmed however by entering the meeting venue and using the public seating area, you are consenting to being filmed and to the use and storage of those images and sound recordings and any information pertaining to you contained in them for webcasting and training purposes and for the purpose of keeping historical records and making those records available to the public.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the sessions. All hearing and inquiry documentation, statements and precognitions may be viewed at Banchory Library, Bridge Street, Banchory, AB31 5SU until the start of the sessions.
