What is planned?

CITY OF BRISTOL

Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government Planning and Land Act 1980

Disposal of public open space – Henacre and Merrimans Open Space, Lawrence Weston/Shirehampton –Bristol Regional Cycling Hub, NCN 41 diversion and upgrade.

1. Notice is hereby given that Bristol City Council proposes, in accordance with Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended by Section 118 of the Local Government Planning and Land Act 1980) to dispose of part of the Henacre and Merrimans Open Space, Lawrence Weston/Shirehampton along with a nonexclusive right of access along the existing tarmacked un adopted road.

2. The purpose of the disposal (which will be by way of a lease) is to build the Bristol Regional Cycling Hub and NCN41 diversion and upgrade to encourage cycling for all members of the community and may involve part of the site to be leased to a third party to help deliver some of the services such as catering.

3. Detailed design proposals can be found under the planning application number 25/12231/FB on Bristol City Councils Planning Portal.

4. Also full details of this proposal have been deposited together with a plan at the Reception of City Hall, College Green, Bristol BS1 5TR and may be inspected free of charge Monday to Friday, during normal office hours.

5. Any representations or objections with respect to the proposal must be made to transport.engagement@bristol.gov.uk and should be received no later than 5pm on 28th August 2025 Please state the grounds upon which any representation or objection is made.
