Notice of Application for Section 37 Consents to replace a short section of 400kV Overhead Line in the area of Denbighshire County Council with Two 400kV Overhead Line Turn-ins
Notice is hereby given that National Grid Electricity Transmission plc (National Grid) intends to make two applications under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the consent of the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero for two turn-ins of the existing 4ZB 400kV (400,000 volts) overhead line to the proposed extended Bodelwyddan Substation.
S37 consent is required for the removal of a 1150m section of existing overhead line between existing Towers 4ZB166 and 4ZB168 and the existing Bodelwyddan Substation and replacement with the two new overhead lines turning into the proposed extended Bodelwyddan Substation: one approximately 600m long between existing Tower 4ZB166 and the proposed extended substation and one approximately 550m long between a replacement Tower 4ZB068 and the proposed extended substation.

Plans of the proposed overhead line turn-ins have been deposited for public inspection in the following location:
St Asaph Library, The Roe, St Asaph, LL17 0LU
Any person wishing to object to this application should send particulars of such objection to s37consents@energysecurity.gov.uk or to Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, 7th Floor, 3 Whitehall Place, London, SW1A 2AW not later than 03 September 2025 identifying the name of the overhead line (4ZB Bodelwyddan turn-ins) and the grounds for objection.

Hysbysir drwy hyn bod National Grid Electricity Transmission plc (National Grid) yn bwriadu gwneud dau gais o dan Adran 37 o Ddeddf Trydan 1989 am ganiatâd yr Ysgrifennydd Gwladol dros Ddiogelwch Ynni a Sero Net i ddargyfeirio dwy linell uwchben 4ZB 400kV (400,000 folt) bresennol i’r is-orsaf estynedig arfaethedig ym Modelwyddan.
Mae angen caniatâd S37 i dynnu rhan 1150m o’r linell uwchben bresennol rhwng Tyrrau 4ZB166 a 4ZB168 a’r is-orsaf bresennol ym Modelwyddan, a’i disodli â dwy linell uwchben newydd wedi’u dargyfeirio i’r is-orsaf estynedig arfaethedig ym Modelwyddan: un sy’n mesur tua 600m rhwng Twr presennol 4ZB166 a’r is-orsaf estynedig arfaethedig, ac un sy’n mesur tua 550m rhwng Twr newydd 4ZB068 a’r is-orsaf estynedig arfaethedig.
