What is planned?

PLANNING ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2011 AND THE PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT) REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2015

PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION WEBSITE

PROPOSAL: Battery energy storage system (BESS) 1.2 GW, synchronous condenser, new access lanes, improvements to Quarterland Road and ancillary development (in substitution for scheme approved under planning ref LA02/2023/1283/F).



LOCATION: Lands to the south of 15 Quarterland Road, Islandmagee, Larne, BT40 3RW.



WEBSITE: A pre-application community consultation website for the proposal will be live from Thursday 31st July until Friday 29th August 2025. The website can be viewed at

and will display details of the proposed development.
