NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF SUPPLEMENTARY
PLANNING DOCUMENTS




NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 16th
July 2025 Eastbourne Borough Council has
adopted the Tourist Accommodation Retention
Supplementary Planning Document and the
Houses in Multiple Occupation Supplementary
Planning Document in accordance with
Regulations 11 and 14 of the Town and Country
Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations
2012 (as amended).
The Tourist Accommodation Retention
Supplementary Planning Document provides up
to date guidance and additional information on
how planning policies relating to the retention of
tourist accommodation will be implemented, and
what is required in order to satisfy the policy
and the reasons why such information is sought.
The Houses in Multiple Occupation
Supplementary Planning Document provides
updated guidance on the application of adopted
planning policies involving proposals for new
or converted HMOs in order to address issues
associated with this type of housing.
Consultation on the Tourist Accommodation
Retention Supplementary Planning Document
and the Houses in Multiple Occupation
Supplementary Planning Document was
undertaken between 28th February and 25th
April 2025, and representations received
during the consultation period were taken
into account. A summary of representations
and changes made for each Supplementary
Planning Document are set out in the respective
Consultation Statement.

Alternatively, in hard copy at Eastbourne Town
Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG during
opening hours.
Any person aggrieved by the decision to adopt
the Supplementary Planning Documents may
apply to the High Court for permission to apply
for judicial review of that decision. Any such
application must be made promptly and no
later than 3 months after the date on which
the Supplementary Planning Documents were
adopted.
