What is planned?

LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 MAJOR APPLICATIONS UNDER ARTICLE 15(4) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE) ORDER 2015 AND OTHER SIGNIFICANT APPLICATIONS

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Tower Hamlets is considering the following applications:

Site at Mastmaker Court, 20–34 Mastmaker Road, London, E14 9BU PA/25/00908 Hybrid Planning Application (part full/part outline) comprising the demolition of existing buildings and structures on site, and the redevelopment of the site as follows:

  1. Detailed Component: Construction of large-scale purpose-built shared living accommodation (Sui Generis), residential units (Use Class C3) and community space (Use Class F1/F2) alongside the provision of a publicly accessible open space, public realm improvements, landscaping, access, servicing, and other associated works.

  2. Outline Component (All Matters Reserved): Comprising the delivery of a school (Use Class F1).

This application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement.

1 Emma Street, London, E2 PA/25/0222 Permanent retention of 3-storey buildings built from reconditioned shipping containers comprised of commercial floorspace (Use Class E) with associated landscaping, new boundary treatment, cycle parking and waste storage. Minor Material Amendments to Planning permission Ref: PA/22/00615, Dated 24/01/2025. Amendments include: Variation of Condition 2 (Approved Plans): installation of an external staircase and privacy screen on the west elevation. Variation of Condition 3 (Approved Land Uses): use of the second floor Units 62–72, Containerville 2 for flexible use of Commercial Kitchens (Sui Generis) and Use Class E(g) (i), (ii) and (iii) use.
