What is planned?

Public Notice
Notification of Road Closure for Special Events
Notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District
Council using its powers under Article 8A of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997, proposes to temporarily prohibit traffic for
the following events.
• LGBTQ+ Women’s Group Newry for the purposes of Newry Pride
• Paul Thompson for the purposes of Glasdrumman GAC
• Loughside Festival Committee for the purposes of Loughside Festival

Newry Pride
Roads: Hill Street, Newry
Junctions: Hill Street from Margaret Street Intersection to O’Hagan
Street Intersection, Newry.
The restriction will start on Saturday 30 August 2025 from 8am to 5pm.
An alternative route will be signed.
Glasdrumman GAC
Roads: Quarter Road and Head Road, Annalong.
The restriction will start on Tuesday 12 August 2025 from 6pm to 9pm.
An alternative route will be signed.
Loughside Festival
Roads: Havelock Place, Seaview, Mound Road Dock Street, Church Street,
A2, Newry Street, Donaghaguy Road, Ballymaconaghy Road, Moygannan
Road, Rostrevor Road, Queen Street - Warrenpoint.
The restriction will start on Sunday 17 August 2025 from 10am to 12pm.
An alternative route will be signed.
A copy of the road closure request application form, route and diversion
maps may be inspected electronically at

or in person during normal office hours at
the Council’s Newry or Downpatrick Office address below.
Written representations may be sent to this address or emailed
to

licensing@nmandd.org

Closing date for written representations is Wednesday 16 July
2025 at 5pm.
