TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highways (North East) (No.10) Order 2025” authorising the stopping up of a an irregular shaped area of highway to the east of Reynolds Avenue and the whole of the unnamed footpath connecting Reynolds Road and Gainsborough Avenue at South Shields in the Metropolitan Borough of South Tyneside. This is to enable development as permitted by South Tyneside Council, under reference ST/0741/23/LAA.

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/5821). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Whiteleas Post Office, 216 Whiteleas Way, South Shields, NE34 8HW.

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 24 June 2025. N Crass, Casework Manager
