Wiltshire, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works
What is planned?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Witt Road, Winterbourne; from its junction with The Common for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out telecommunication equipment upgrades and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. B) Charlton Lane (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with Water Lane to its property known as Spring Farm to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out HV and associated works. Alternative route via UC 816902 (C12) – C12 – Shaftesbury Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. C) UC 912203 (Part), Donhead St Andrew, Donhead St Mary and Berwick St John; from its junction with C213 to its terminus to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via Easton Hollow – C12 – A30 – C225 – C312 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 for 5 days. D) C331 (Part), Grimstead, Pitton and Farley; from its property known as Bracken Farm for a distance of approximately 80m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage investigation and associated works. Alternative route via C331 (unaffected length) – C321 – C228 – C331 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 16:00 until 18 July 2025. E) Barnes Wallis Close, Amesbury; from its junction with Raleigh Crescent for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out installation of new customer service and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 2 days. F) C263 (Part), Chute Forest; from its junction with Roundaway Lane for a distance of approximately 56m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via Tangley Bottom Road – Roundway Copse Lane – Lone Ash Hill – Hatherden Lane – Foxcotte Lane – Hatherden Road – Foxcotte Road – Penton Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 085 1994.
G) C263 (Part), Chute Forest; from its junction with Roundaway Lane for a distance of approximately 95.6m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via Tangley Bottom Road – Roundaway Lane – Lone Ash Hill – Hatherden Lane – Foxcotte Lane – Hatherden Road – Foxcotte Road – Penton Road and vice versa. H) C12 (Part), Coombe Bissett and Odstock; from its junction with Old Blandford Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage works. Alternative route via the C336 – A345 – C339 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 16:00 until 04 July 2025. I) A345 (Part), Amesbury; from its western junction with Cadnam Crescent to its junction with Stockport Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via the A345 – A3028 – Countess Road – A345 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day. SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to temporarily introduce a prohibition of right hand turn on:
St Johns Street, Salisbury. From its junction with St Johns Street to its junction with HGV Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out traffic signal upgrade works. Alternative route via Catherine Street – Milford Street – Brown Street – New Street – Blue Boar Row – Castle Street – Brown Street. The prohibition of turn and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 14 July 2025 and the restriction will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 until 08 August 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely. Advance warning signs will be placed and the maximum duration is 18 months. SECTION 16A OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to Temporarily introduce a One-Way traffic restriction on the following roads in the specified directions:
a) Howgare Road (Part), Broad Chalke; from the county boundary in a northerly direction to its junction with Newtown. Direction of permitted travel northbound only.
b) Newtown, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with Bury Orchard. Direction of permitted travel south westbound only.
c) UC 804 (Bury Orchard), Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 (The Causeway). Direction of permitted travel northbound only.
This Order is made to facilitate access in and between fields for tractor and trailer and will restrict access to all traffic (access will be maintained for residents).
d) Bulls Lane, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 south of Reed’s Lane. Direction of permitted travel northbound only.
e) Bridleway 6, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with Footpath 39, Broad Chalke. The order is to ensure public safety during the operation of the Chalke Valley History Festival. The restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
