THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
KINGSTON UPON HULL (HOP GROVE, CHESTNUT AVENUE, HULL HU5 2RH)
TREE PRESERVATION ORDER (NO. 303) 2025

This is a formal notice that on 9th June 2025 the Council made the above Tree Preservation Order.

A certified copy of the Order and the map identifying the trees may be inspected at the Main reception at the Guildhall, Hull between the hours of 9am-4pm Monday to Friday. Should you wish to raise any objections or make any representations with respect to the Order, they should be made in accordance with Regulation 6 of the Town and Country Planning (Tree Preservation) (England) Regulations 2012.

In simple terms, it prohibits anyone from cutting down, topping or lopping any of the trees contained in the TPO without the Council’s consent.

The Council have made the order because the trees are significant specimens and contribute significantly to the visual amenity of the local area.

The order took effect, on an interim basis, on 9th June 2025. It will continue in force on this basis for a further 6 months or until the order is confirmed by the Council, whichever first occurs.

The Council will consider whether the order should be confirmed, that is to say, whether it should take effect formally. Before this decision is made, the people affected by the order have a right to make objections or other representations about any of the trees covered by the order.

If you would like to make any objections or other comments, please make sure I receive them in writing by 10th July 2025 or by emailing your comments to the email address below. Send your comments to me quoting reference TPO 303 to the address(es) below. All valid objections or representations are carefully considered before a decision on whether to confirm the order is made.

Not all Tree Preservation Orders will be decided by the Committee.

If a tree preservation order is due to be considered by the Planning Committee everyone who has commented will be contacted 5 days before the date of the Committee. Anyone wishing to speak at Planning Committee will be asked to register their intention no later than the day prior to the Committee meeting.
