Parish of Widdrington Station and Stobswood (Public Footpath No 9) Diversion Order 2025
The above Order was made on 4th June 2025, under section 257 of the Town & Country Planning Act, 1980. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 9
(Parish of Widdrington Station and Stobswood)
To extinguish the footpath, from a point 3 metres north of the East Coast Main Line footbridge (O.S grid reference NZ 2383 9465), in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 100 metres, to a point 100 metres north-west of the East Coast Main Line footbridge (NZ 2379 9474), where it connects with Public Footpath No 5 in the Parish of Widdrington.
To create a 2 metre wide footpath, from a point 3 metres north of the East Coast Main Line footbridge (O.S grid reference NZ 2383 9465), in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 35 metres, then in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 100 metres, then in a northerly direction to a point 100 metres north-west of the East Coast Main Line footbridge (NZ 2379 9474), where it connects with Public Footpath No 5 in the Parish of Widdrington.
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and map have been placed, and may be seen free of charge at Main Reception, County Hall, Morpeth, during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased. They can also be viewed online at

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Barbara McCabe the Legal Officer at the address shown below not later than 24th July 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Northumberland County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representation and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
