Proposed Development at Land West of Scropton, Leathersley Lane, Scropton, DE65 5DN

I give notice that Heidelberg Materials UK is applying to Derbyshire County Council for planning permission for Extraction of sand and gravel with restoration to agriculture and biodiversity with public amenity access, creation of flood storage areas, construction of a new access off Leathersley Lane, erection of processing plant and machinery and ancillary operations including weighbridge, office, welfare and wheelwash on land off Leathersley Lane, Scropton.

• The application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement.

• The proposed development to which the application relates is situated within 10 metres of relevant railway land.

Members of the public may inspect copies of the application, plans and other documents submitted with it by prior arrangement at Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3AG, tel. 01629 539800 (available online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk), or at the Planning Department, South Derbyshire District Council Civic Offices, Civic Way, Swadlincote, DE11 0AH (available online at www.southderbyshire.gov.uk) during all reasonable hours until 27 June 2025. 

A copy of the environmental statement may be obtained from Mr C Nicoll, Land and Planning Manager, Heidelberg Materials UK, Pegasus Business Park, Herald Way, Castle Donington, Derby. DE74 2TZ, so long as stocks last, at a cost of £250 for a printed copy.

Anyone who wishes to make representations to the County Council about this application should do so by 27 June 2025, 

• by writing to the Executive Director of Place, at the County Council postal address given above, or

• by email to: planningrepresentations@derbyshire.gov.uk, or

• by using the facility for representations about current planning applications available on the Council's website www.derbyshire.gov.uk

Other Information:
• The development would affect a right of way to which Part 3 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 applies.

• The Council thinks that the development would affect the setting of some listed buildings in the area.
