Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Order will be effective from Saturday 24th May 2025 for a period of 3 days as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the Event Organiser and the Police.

Pedestrians & traffic to be diverted where possible via the alternative route where via Priestley St, Farrell St, Midland Way, Manchester Rd, Kingsway Nth, Kingsway Sth via to Slutchers Ln.

Local traffic to divert via Hallaway, Wilson Patten St, Kingsway Nth, Kingsway Sth, Liverpool Rd, Parker St, Wilson Patten St, Slutchers Ln, Chester Rd, Walton New Rd, Walton Rd & vice versa.

The restrictions are required to facilitate The Neighbourhood Weekender Music Festival.

Summer Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Summer Ln from its jct. with Pillmoss Ln to its jct. with Newton Ln. The Order will be effective from 11th June 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative route will be via Pillmoss Ln, Stretton Rd, Grimsditch Ln, Newton Rd & vice versa.

The closure is required to allow Openreach to work on their overhead structures.

The effect of which will be to introduce the following:

Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Beech Rd; Farrell Rd; Algernon St; Chadwick Ave; Pike St; Victoria Rd; Warburton St

Part length of road: Ellesmere Rd from the jct. with Osborne Rd to the jct. with Francis Rd.

The Order will be effective from 2nd June 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 14 weeks, between 8:30am & 5:30pm.

The alternative routes will be as follows:

Beech Rd via Carton St, Cowdort St, Farrell Rd & vice versa;

Farrell Rd via Beech Rd, Carton St, Cowdort St & vice versa;

Chadwick Ave via Mill Ln, Ackers Ln, Lime Tree Ave & vice versa;

Ellesmere Rd via Osborne Rd, Stetchworth Rd, Walton Heath Rd, West Ave, Francis Rd & vice versa;

Pike St via Gaskell St, Fairfield Rd, Warrington St & vice versa;

Victoria Rd via Grappenhall Rd, Parkgate Rd, Alexandra Rd & vice versa or via Grappenhall Rd, London Rd, Fairfield Rd, Alexandra Rd & vice versa;

Warburton St via Pike St, Gaskell St, Fairfield Rd & vice versa.

The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.

Cross Ln, Croft (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Cross Ln from its jct. with Warrington Rd to its jct. with Lady Ln. The Order will be effective from 12th May 2025.

The closure is for a period of 2 weeks.

The alternative route will be via Lady Ln, Mustard Ln, Wingshaw Ln, Common Ln, New Ln & vice versa.

The closure is required to allow Electricity North West to carry cable jointing works.

Farnworth Rd, Penketh (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 6th March 2025.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Farnworth Rd (northeast traffic) from its jct. with Widnes Rd for approx. 80m in a north easterly direction.

The Order was effective from 12th March 2025 with the closure in place for 10 weeks, however, due to delays on the site they are now required to remain in place for a further 8 weeks.

The access, alternative route & reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.
