Notice of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA):

Proposed Establishment of a Tree Seed Orchard for Future Forestry Species at Plardiwick Farm, Norbury Park Estate

Notice is hereby given in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations 1999 and amended EIA 2017 regulations that apply to forestry projects, that Norbury Park Estate has proposed the establishment of a tree seed orchard for future forestry species at Plardiwick Farm to Forestry Commission England (FCE). FCE may decide either to grant consent subject only to the conditions required by regulation 18 of the EIA Forestry Regulations 1999, or, to such further conditions as FCE see fit, or to refuse consent.

Due to significant challenges posed to UK forest tree species partnered with an increased need for species diversity and high-quality seed, this project has been proposed as a combative measure. The project involves the afforestation of 16hectares of agricultural ground, by planting 90 distinct blocks, each designed to cultivate a target tree species for future seed production. New infrastructure required would be a livestock fence with no other infrastructure required.

Proponent: Norbury Park Estate
Competent Authority: Forestry Commission

In terms of the requirements of the EIA Regulations, all stakeholders and other interested and affected parties (I&APs) must be provided with opportunities to participate in the EIA process. This would include attendance of scoping meetings, review of all reports generated, and submission of comments during the EIA process.

The application may be viewed free of charge during reasonable hours for the next 30 days. To learn more or to input a written consultation response, submit your name, contact details, and interest to: Bank House Bank Street Coleford Gloucestershire GL16 8BA
