What is planned?

The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015 (SI 2015/595)

PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION PUBLIC EVENT

Proposal: Installation of a solar farm with a maximum capacity of up to 42 MW, landscaping, and all associated works, equipment, and necessary infrastructure.

Site Location: Valley Solar Farm, Land west of Drinkstone Green, Hessett, Suffolk

A public meeting will be held for the purposes of community consultation regarding this potential development proposal. A public exhibition for any interested resident will take place on 22nd April 2025 between 2:30pm and 6:30pm at Felsham & Gedding Village Hall, Church Rd, Felsham, Bury Saint Edmunds IP30 0PN.

Details will be posted on the consultation website one week prior to the event. Further information relating to this proposal may be obtained from the prospective developer, OPDENERGY, by visiting the consultation website www.valleysolarfarm.co.uk

You are invited to provide comments on the proposals directly to the developer at this stage, either at the above event and/or via email at planning@opdenergy.com. These comments must be submitted no later than 1st May 2025 at 7:00pm.

Please note that all comments must be sent to the developer using the contact details stated above and NOT to Babergh Mid Suffolk District Council. There will be an opportunity to make representations to the Council as and when a formal planning application for the proposal is submitted.
