Planning Consultation Notice

Land at Murton Way, York, YO19 5UP

APP Consultation on Amendments to the Proposed Development Net Zero Fourteen Limited (the Appellant) has submitted a planning appeal regarding the above site following the refusal of full planning permission by York City Council on 9th of December 2024 for: "Erection of a Battery Energy Storage System with associated infrastructure, site levelling works, access, landscaping and ancillary works." (Application reference: 23/02030/FULM).

We are now conducting a period of consultation to allow interested parties the opportunity to make comments on the revised proposals and associated documents in respect of the appeal scheme. Amendments have been made to the site layout to increase separation distances between the battery units, to increase the number of passing and turning spaces and to modify the vehicular access. Amendments have also been made to the landscape masterplan to provide additional landscape enhancement. This consultation is not run on behalf of York City Council. The purpose of the consultation is to consult on the amended proposals not on the Appellant's application to appeal the Council's decision. There will be an opportunity for the interested parties to respond to the appeal separately. The revised proposals and associated documents are available here murtonwaybess.co.uk If you wish to make any comments to the amended proposals and associated documents, please ensure that responses are submitted via the Planning Inspectorate's Appeals Casework Portal: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ViewCase.aspx?caseid=3362064, using the (PINS Appeals Reference: APP/C2741/W/25/3362064). Please make your comments by 29 April 2025. All comments received will be shared with both the Planning Inspectorate and the Council prior to the opening of the appeal Inquiry. Consultation responses will then be considered by the appointed Inspector alongside all other consultation responses that have already been received on this appeal. All comments submitted will be in the public domain and may be referred to during the appeal.
