What is planned?

EPSOM AND EWELL BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER APRIL 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Epsom & Ewell Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 32 to 35 and 38 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 9 to that Act, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and all other enabling powers make the above Order.

The Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order April 2025 is to come into force on the Monday 7th April 2025.

A copy of the Order may be inspected on the Council’s website at http://www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/residents/parking/new-traffic-order. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date below, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

The effect of the Order, the charges which will apply, and the restrictions which affect the off-street car parks are set out in the schedule and summarised as follows:

  1. To revoke the Council’s current Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order March 2022 and replace the same with the Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order April 2025

  2. To amend the following charges in the car parks specified:

  1. To align the evening parking rate across all Epsom car parks to begin at 5:30pm Monday to Saturday with a maximum evening flat rate of £5 to be charged between 5:30pm and 00:30am.

  2. To introduce a maximum evening flat rate of £2.50 in Dorset House, Ewell High Street and Stoneleigh Parade car parks available between 6:30pm and 00:30am.
