What is planned?

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE CONSENT
THE PLANNING (HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES) ACT 1990
THE PLANNING (HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES) REGULATIONS 2015 

We hereby give notice that Lubrizol Limited, operating on land at Albion Road, Carlton Industrial Estate, Barnsley, S71 3HW, is applying to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, who for the purposes of the 2015 regulations act as The Hazardous Substances Authority, for an amendment to an existing consent to manufacture and store, at any one time, up to 200 tonnes of substances falling into Schedule 1, Part 1, section E categories E1-Hazardous to the aquatic environment (category 1) and E2-hazardous to the aquatic environment (category 2). 

An amendment is required to designate additional storage areas within the current site boundary. There is no change to the overall quantity or category of materials consented. 

This application will be determined by the Hazardous Substances Authority who have the power to reject it or approve it with or without conditions. Members of the public may inspect a copy of the application, by prior appointment, at the above address during the hours 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday until 29th April 2025.
