NOTICE OF VARIATION OF OFF STREET PARKING CHARGES
THE CHORLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES, CHORLEY)
(CONSOLIDATION AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2008
(Notice of Variation No. 6 2025)
NOTICE is hereby given that Chorley Borough Council (“the Council”) will on 1st April 2025 under Section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and Regulation 25 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Regulation Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996
and of all other enabling powers revise the charges for Off-Street Parking Places.
1. This Variation shall come into force from 1st April 2025. The Council will post notices at each Parking Place set out in the Schedules below stating the revised car parking charges after the date that the notice of making is first advertised in accordance with Regulation 17 of and Schedule 1 to the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and may be cited as the “Chorley Borough
Council (Off-Street Parking Places, Chorley) (Consolidation and Amendment) Order 2008 (Variation No.6 2025).”
2. In this Order the term ‘the Consolidation Order’ means The Chorley Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places, Chorley) (Consolidation and Amendment) Order 2008 which save as expressly varied as aforesaid shall continue in full force and effect.
3. When this Notice comes into force pursuant to paragraph 1 above:
(a) Any reference to scale of charges within column 6 of Schedules 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Consolidation Order and in any previous notices of variation be replaced with the revised scale of charges contained within the Schedules to this Notice
SCHEDULE ONE – VARIATION OF FLAT IRON CAR PARK
Flat Iron: Increase in charges. Remains a maximum stay of 2 hours.
Flat Iron car park is chargeable for 7 days a week between 8am and 5pm.
Bank Holidays will remain free but maximum stay periods will continue to apply to the Flat Iron car park and must display a time of arrival ticket

Please note the following:-
(a) Consecutive ticketing will be prohibited
(b) Tickets are not transferable from car park to car park or vehicle to vehicle
(c) The Maximum Stay at each car park is set out in the Schedules above
(d) No return to the same car park within 2 hours
For customers who are taking advantage of the free parking:
(a) A ‘time of arrival’ ticket must be obtained where required
(b) The ‘time of arrival’ ticket must be displayed where required
(c) Free parking periods cannot be used to extend stays. If customers wish to park for a duration which exceeds the free period of parking they must purchase a Parking Ticket.
