I refer to the above planning appeal which has been made to the Secretary of State against the decision of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council to refuse the above application for planning permission by Boom Developments Ltd. The appeal will be determined on the basis of an Inquiry. The Procedure to be followed is set out in the Town and Country Planning Appeals (Determination by Inspectors) (Inquiry Procedure) (England) Rules 2000, as amended.

The Inquiry is scheduled to commence on the 25 March 2025 and sit for up to 8 days. These are scheduled to be: 25 to 28 March 2025 (inclusive) and 01 April-04 April 2025, and then if necessary, 08 April 2025. The Inquiry will be held at the Kingswood Suite, Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield WF1 2HQ.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and, at the discretion of the Inspector, express their views. If you are disabled or anyone you know who wants to go to the inquiry is disabled, please contact the Council to confirm they can make proper arrangements such as parking spaces, access, seating arrangements and so on. Documents relating to the appeals can be viewed at the Council’s offices by prior arrangement. Please be advised that the appellants have now submitted additional information, including amendments to the proposed landscaping scheme. Members of the public may inspect copies of the planning application/appeals documents and the environmental statement including an addendum to the Environmental Statement which includes a revised Landscape Assessment and Landscape scheme for the development as proposed at Wakefield Council’s Planning Applications website at: https://planning.wakefield.gov.uk/online-applications/.

Anyone who wishes to make representations about the appeals (including environmental statement and all other documents) should make them before 15 March 2025, online at: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk. You will need to enter the following reference number.
