Notice is hereby given that the following applications have been received:

Application No. 47/24/00001: St Mary Magdalenes Church, Stockland Bristol, Bridgwater, TA5 2PZ. Access improvements comprising: removal of 2No. steps to southwest path with lifting & relaying of existing path; addition of handrails to steps at East end of churchyard; raising of paving level outside South Porch; construction of railings & gate around former boiler room basement steps; addition of handrails to vestry steps; & construction of a Trench Arch Drainage system to facilitate the addition of accessible WC. This application affects a listed building.

Application No. 19/24/00012: The Old Stables, 6 Smallways Lane, Chilton Polden, Bridgwater, TA7 9EG. Proposal is to refurbish the existing (non listed) building & footprint. Alter & adapt existing internal & external openings. Form new window & door openings. Remove the existing glazed structure (south elevation) & add a new kitchen dining area with tiled mono pitch roof. Extend the new roofline to clad a new single storey extension abutting the west wall of The Tower House (Grade 2). Add a new photovoltaic (PV) array to the roofline of the south elevation. This application affects a listed building.

Application No. 37/25/00001: Newton House, Church Road, North Newton, Bridgwater, TA7 0BG. The proposed work is to insert a 3.6m Aluminium bifold door at the rear of the property, painted French Green to match the rest of the windows. (There is already a 1.2m bifold door) This would also entail relocating the WC. 2 small internal walls would have to be taken down but these are not structural / load bearing & were put in by the previous owners. The overall design would be to create a large open plan kitchen/dining room with views over our garden. This application affects a listed building.

Application No. 51/25/00001: Cokerhurst Farm, 87 Wembdon Hill, Wembdon, Bridgwater, TA6 7QA. Remove cement render on West & North walls. Remove rotten timber & add new breathable belt. Replace 2 windows on south elevation. Add Brazilian graphite slates. Inspection of chimneys. This application affects a listed building.

Application No. 22/25/00002: The Old Rectory, Middle Road, Cossington, Bridgwater, TA7 8LQ. Partial dismantling & rebuild of existing West stone boundary wall. This application may affect the setting of a listed building. (Householder application).

Application No. 13/25/00003: 19 Fore Street, Cannington, Bridgwater, TA5 2HQ. 1. Take down the 5m crumbling & dangerous existing brick & sandstone wall adjacent to the parking area that is being pushed over by an old pear tree. 2. Relocate the 5m wall mentioned in 1 above, 4 meters south into the existing garden & rebuild in rubble & sandstone & brick. This development is on a site adjoining a Conservation Area & may affect its character, affects the setting of a listed building, & may affect a public right of way. (Householder application).

Application No. 13/25/00004: 19 Fore Street, Cannington, Bridgwater, TA5 2HQ. 1. Take down the 5m crumbling & dangerous existing brick & sandstone wall adjacent to the parking area that is being pushed over by an old pear tree. 2. Relocate the 5m wall mentioned in 1 above, 4 meters south into the existing garden & rebuild in rubble & sandstone & brick. This application affects a listed building.

Application No. 08/25/00008: First & Second Floor, 21 Fore Street, Bridgwater, TA6 3NH. Change of use & extension of upper floors to form 2no. apartments. This site lies within a Conservation Area.

Application No. 08/25/00013: 61 Eastover, Bridgwater, TA6 5AP. Change of use & redevelopment of storage building to form 1No. dwelling, including replacement of existing mono pitched roof with dual pitch hipped roof, installation of 2No. rooflights, erection of bin enclosure, & associated works. This site lies within a Conservation Area.

For applications identified as householder, if an appeal against a refusal of planning permission is submitted, there will be no further opportunity to comment at the appeal stage. Comments welcome by 04/03/2025. Applications can be viewed online https://sdc.somerset.gov.uk/planning_online, or at Council Offices & libraries.
