Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is planned?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
Coast Drive, Lydd On Sea, TN29 9NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coast Drive, Lydd On Sea, on or after 21st February 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 20 to outside number 22, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coast Drive, Kerton Road, Dungeness Road, Battery Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Longage Hill, Lyminge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow vegetation cutting to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Longage Hill, Lyminge, on or after 17th February 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Longage Farm to approximately 347m in a Southeasterly direction, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Longage Hill, Brady Road, Woodland Road, Green Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Red House Lane, Lyminge, CT18 8HQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Red House Lane, Lyminge, on or after 3rd March 2025 for up to 21 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sandling Road, Saltwood, CT21 4PY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Saltwood, on or after 17th February 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside High Meadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, Brockhill Road, Bartholomew Lane, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, Sandling Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Straight Hill, Wingmore, CT4 6LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Straight Hill, Wingmore, on or after 3rd March 2025 for up to 21 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Canterbury Road and Bournes Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, High Street, Park Gate Hill, Park Gate Road, Fir Tree Hill, Bournes Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 35) 2025
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The Order proposes to install disabled persons parking places in the following streets:
Folkestone: In the vicinity of:2 Stoddart Road; 22 Stuart Road; 98 Linden Crescent; 2 Hythe Close;
Hythe: In the vicinity of:224 Seabrook Road;
Cheriton: In the vicinity of: Middleburg House, Cheriton High Street.
A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of any Orders which may be amended by it, and a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it can be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2QY or at https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/parking
We must receive any representations before 5pm on Friday 7th March 2025 or them to be considered. For legal reasons we cannot accept representations over the phone or in person.
