STOPPING UP OF PART OF THE HIGHWAY KNOWN AS HATFIELD WEIGHBRIDGE, OLDINGS CORNER, COMET WAY, HATFIELD AL9 5JJ

TAKE NOTICE that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL, as the local highway authority for Hertfordshire, intends to apply to St Albans Magistrates’ Court, sitting at The Civic Centre, St Peter’s Street, St. Albans, AL1 3LB, on 26th March 2025 at 10am, for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, authorising the stopping up of part of the highway known as Hatfield Weighbridge, Oldings Corner, Comet Way, Hatfield AL9 5JJ in the district of Welwyn Hatfield.

This area is shown coloured pink and hatched black on the plan labelled “Proposed Stopping-Up, Hatfield Weighbridge, Comet Way, Hatfield” (“the Plan”), on the grounds that it is unnecessary.

The Plan is available for inspection during normal office hours at:

  • Front Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Hertford SG13 8DE, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

On the hearing date at St Albans Magistrates’ Court, any persons required to be given notice under paragraph 1 of the 12th Schedule to the Highways Act 1980, any person who uses the highway, and any other person aggrieved by the making of the Order will have the right to be heard.
