What is planned?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic  Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8LD (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 20MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will have a mandatory 20MPH speed limit. The speed limit will be imposed from opposite Domneva Bus Stop to outside number 160, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

A254 Queens Avenue, Margate, CT9 5SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A254 Queens Avenue, Margate, on or after 10th February 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of A255 Grosvenor Gardens, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Grosvenor Gardens, B2055 Churchfields, B2055 Churchfield Place, B2055 Hawley Square, B2055 Cecil Street, Cecil Square, Queen Street, Marine Gardens, A254 Belgrave Road and A254 Eaton Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chapel Place, Ramsgate, CT11 9RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Place, Ramsgate, on or after 11th February 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 35. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Elms Avenue, Cannon Road, High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Street, Broadstairs, CT10 2TL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Street, Broadstairs, on or after 31st January 2025 for up to 5 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Northdown Road and Hopeville Avenue, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Street, Vicarage Street, A255 Broadstairs Road, A255 St Peters Road, B2053 St Peters Park Road, B2053 Albion Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cumberland Road & Norfolk Road, Margate, CT9 2HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cumberland Road & Norfolk Road, Margate, on or after 13th February 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

Cumberland Road will be closed at the junction of Norfolk Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Surrey Road and vice versa.

Norfolk Road will be closed at the junction of Cumberland Road. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Surrey Road, Warwick Road, Northdown Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ethelred Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8QH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ethelred Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 10th February 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Vestey Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ethelred Road, Egbert Road, Westgate Bay Avenue, St Mildreds Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

George Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9TF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of George Street, Ramsgate, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of High Street and Effingham Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Street, High Street, A255 Park Road, Grange Road, West Cliff Road, Queen Street, Effingham Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mansion Street, Margate, CT9 1EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mansion Street, Margate, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of B2051 Fort Hill to outside number 4, the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Fort Hill, Fort Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Norfolk Road, Margate, CT9 2NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Norfolk Road, Margate, on or after 12th February 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only.

The road will be closed adjacent to International Food Centre to outside number 106, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of Cumberland Road and Northdown Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Northdown Road, Harold Road, B2051 Eastern Esplanade and Norfolk Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Cumberland Road, Warwick Road, Northdown Road and Norfolk Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Surrey Road, Margate, CT9 2LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Surrey Road, Margate, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of B2051 Eastern Esplanade and Cumberland Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Norfolk Road, Cumberland Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
