NOTICE OF THE CONFIRMATION OF ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION

The City of Doncaster Council (“the Council”) has confirmed an Article 4(1) Direction
on 19 December 2024 under Article 4(1) of The Town and Country Planning (General
Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) (“the GPDO”). The
Article 4 Direction removes Permitted Development Rights relating to the demolition
of buildings at the Former Balby Board School, Balby Road, Doncaster, granted
under Class B Part 11 of Schedule 2 to the GPDO. The effect of the Direction is that
planning permission will now be required for the demolition of any building(s) within
the specified area.

CANCELS THE PREVIOUSLY MADE ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION DATED 29TH
SEPTEMBER 2023
The City of Doncaster Council (“the Council”) confirmed an Article 4(1) Direction on
19 December 2024 under Article 4(1) of The Town and Country Planning (General
Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) (“the GPDO”). The
new Article 4 Direction cancels the Article 4 Direction which was confirmed on 29th
September 2023, which removed Permitted Development Rights relating to the
demolition of buildings at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, granted under Class B Part 11
of Schedule 2 to the GPDO. The effect of the Direction is that from 19 December
2024 planning permission will no longer be required for the demolition of any
building(s) within the specified area and permitted development rights granted under
Class B Part 11 of Schedule 2 to the GPDO will apply again to buildings at
Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
The Article 4 Direction applies to land allocated within the operational boundary of
Doncaster Sheffield Airport in the current Doncaster Local Plan 2015 – 2035.
