What is planned?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER UNDER THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 – SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14 THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (SECTION OF UNNAMED FOOTPATH AT LAND TO THE EAST OF FARRINGDON ROW) PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP ORDER 2024

The above order was made by the Council of the City of Sunderland (“the Council”) on 13th December 2024. The effect of the order will be to stop up the public footpath described in the Schedule to this Notice as shown by a bold black line on the order map. A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA. Copies of the order and order map may be purchased there at the price of £1.00. Any representation about or objection to the order may be sent or delivered in writing to E. Waugh, Assistant Director of Law and Governance, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA not later than 28th January 2025 or via email at: statutoryorders@sunderland.gov.uk. Please state the grounds on which it is made and quote reference: JA/82727 in all correspondence. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council of the City of Sunderland may itself confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
THE SCHEDULE The section of unnamed footpath to be stopped up is located near Farringdon Row in the City of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and shown by a bold black line on the order map reference: SUO71094/03 and described as follows:
Footpath from Points A – B Commencing at point A (OS Ref: 439044, 557444) running in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 115.7 metres to point B (OS Ref: 439137, 557375), and from point A to point B with a width varying from 3.0 metres to 4.6 metres.
