What is planned?

SHEEPSCOMBE COMMON

Natural England has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Sheepscombe Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.

ALL WORKS ARE EXISTING. NO NEW WORKS ARE PROPOSED - THE APPLICATION IS TO RENEW THE EXISTING PLANNING CONSENT.

The proposed works are 1,050 metres of stock-proof fencing located on or close to the boundary of Sheepscombe Common enclosing 38,663 square metres of common land. 9 gates and 2 stiles allow access to and from the common. There are 2 further gates around the common not owned/managed by Natural England: (1) a metal field gate used for vehicular access to the cricket ground and (2) a wooden field gate to a private paddock adjoining the common.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at the Natural England workshop door at The Ebworth Centre, The Camp, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL6 7ES at any time until 4pm on 20th December 2024.
